Re-vetting process
... ongoing scrutiny of experts

Re-vetting enables experts to subject themselves to periodic review by instructing lawyers. It is a voluntary process.

Each lawyer referee is asked whether they are able to make a general recommendation as to the expert’s abilities as an expert witness in a number of work categories, including:

  • SJE work
  • criminal work
  • civil work
  • report writing
  • oral evidence
  • cross-examination.

We publish on this web site and in our accompanying software:

  • the most recent vetting date for each aspect of the expert’s role
  • the total number of positive recommendations gained thus far by the expert.
