Mr Pearce has a clinical interest in all areas of cardiac diagnostic testing in both non-invasive and invasive areas. Echocardiography is his specialist area of practice, with specialised interests in stress echocardiography, valvular heart disease and detection of coronary heart disease.

Dr Ashworth administers cardiothoracic anaesthesia, anaesthesia for heart and lung transplantation, and general and regional anaesthesia. He also administers care to the critically ill, including life support, invasive monitoring techniques, resuscitation and end-of-life care. He has a special interest in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), mechanical circulatory support and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE).
