I have been a medico-legal expert for over 15 years. I am currently chair of the medico-legal committee of the Independent Doctors Federation. I was responsible for the re-writing of the Female Genital Mutilation Act in 2003, and have published widely and lectured on female genital mutilation. I am a member of the Expert Witness Institute.
