Dr Ashworth administers cardiothoracic anaesthesia, anaesthesia for heart and lung transplantation, and general and regional anaesthesia. He also administers care to the critically ill, including life support, invasive monitoring techniques, resuscitation and end-of-life care. He has a special interest in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), mechanical circulatory support and transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE).

Dr Rao has special clinical interests in the management of heart failure, implantation of complex devices (including cardiac resynchronisation and implantable defibrillators), extraction/revision of pacing systems, His bundle pacing (HBP), leadless pacemakers and subcutaneous ICDs. She is actively involved with the management of end-stage heart failure and end-of-life care in these patients, and has extensive experience with deactivation of ICDs at end of life.
