Dr Fonseka has a specialist interest in pleural disease and has sat on the British Thoracic Society national guideline committees for both mesothelioma and pleural disease. Dr de Fonseka is heavily involved with pleural intervention such as local anaesthetic thoracoscopy, indwelling pleural catheters, intercostal chest drains and diagnostic/therapeutic pleural aspirations.
Mr Joshi in MANCHESTER
Mr Joshi's clinical focus is minimally invasive surgery, as well as general thoracic surgical oncology. He also treats patients who require pleural surgery, thymic surgery, diaphragm palsy and hernia, chest wall tumour resection and reconstruction, lung volume reduction, airway and tracheal procedures, as well as emergency thoracic surgery, including chest wall trauma. Mr Joshi also has experience in upper gastrointestinal surgery, mesothelioma and extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Dr Iyer in MANCHESTER
Dr Iyer is an advanced cancer interventionalist who has logged more than 200 medical thoracoscopies and 400 advanced bronchoscopy procedures. He is competent to comment on all aspects of respiratory medicine, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer, cystic fibrosis/bronchiectasis, pneumonia and pleural effusion. He is also competent to comment on polysomnography and complex non-respiratory sleep disorders.
