In my clinical practice, I am a Consultant Urogynaecologist, with broad experience in vaginal and laparoscopic procedures, including abdominal insertion of mesh. I have more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, covering broadly the clinical epidemiology of pelvic floor disorders, with wide experience in guideline development (at local, national and international level), and a particular interest in the epidemiology and pathophysiology of incontinence, prolapse and mesh complications.

Mr Izett-Kay has a clinical and academic specialist interest in laparoscopic urogynaecology and complex tertiary pelvic floor disorders, as well as general gynaecology. This includes vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence, birth trauma, overactive bladder, urinary tract infection, bladder pain, vaginal mesh, mesh complications, chronic pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, keyhole surgery, period/menstrual problems and ovarian cysts.

I have been a medico-legal expert for over 15 years. I am currently chair of the medico-legal committee of the Independent Doctors Federation.
